Police: 2 men break into woman's home, rape her at gunpoint before fleeing

DANVILLE, Va. (WSET) -- The Danville Police Department said they are investigating a home invasion and rape.

Officers responded to the 500 block of Ingram Street around 11 p.m. Wednesday, September 19.

Police said officers spoke with an adult female victim who told them two men kicked in the back door of her house and raped her.

Both of the suspects had guns, police said, and some type of clothing covering their faces.

One suspect is described as being short and the other is described as being taller.

She told police that both suspects fled on foot and an officer with a K-9 was called in to assist with tracking them down.

The victim was transported to a medical facility for treatment.

Police said they do not believe the attack was random.
