Police: 18-year-old dies after he was shot in Lynchburg

    LYNCHBURG, Va. (WSET) -- The Lynchburg Police Department said an 18-year-old has died after a shooting on 3rd Street Saturday night.

    Police said officers responded to the 2000 block of 3rd Street around 12:30 a.m. Sunday for the report of a malicious wounding where multiple callers told 911 they heard gunshots in the area.

    When they got there, police said they found a man inside a home with an apparent gunshot wound.

    18-year-old Keshawn Lamont Dickerson was taken to the hospital where he later died from his injuries.

    At this time, this is an ongoing and active investigation.
