Police: 17-year-old pedestrian walking on Va. road hit, killed by car
RUSSELL Co., Va. (WSET) - State Police are investigating a fatal crash that left a 17-year-old pedestrian dead.
Police say the crash happened Saturday just after 10:15 p.m. on Route 19, less than a mile north of Route 642.
According to police, a 20-year-old man from Swords Creek was driving south on Route 19 when a male pedestrian jumped in front of the vehicle.
State Police say 17-year-old Nathaniel G. Taylor, of Honaker, was walking south on Route 19 and was wearing dark clothing.
Taylor was flown to Bristol Regional Medical Center where police say he died Sunday morning.
Police say neither the driver or passenger in the car were injured.
This crash remains under investigation.
