Officials respond to electrical fire in Roanoke
ROANOKE Co., Va. (WSET) -- Roanoke County Fire and Rescue say they responded to a report of a structure fire Saturday afternoon.
According to officials, the fire happened in the 1700 block of Mountain Heights Drive in the Masons Cove area.
First arriving crews say there was light smoke showing from the house.
They say the fire was contained inside the wall of the house.
The fire marshal's office investigated and determined that the fire was accidentally caused be a contractor drilling through the wall of the house. An electrical wire was struck by accident.
Officials say there were no injuries and the five occupants of the home will not be displaced.
They say the damage of the home is estimated at $4,000.
