CAMPBELL Co., Va. (WSET) - Campbell County officials have confirmed the identity of a man killed in a house fire.
They say 59-year-old David Matthew Johnson was trapped in the basement and not able to make it out of his Rustburg home.
The fire started around 7 p.m. Tuesday on Pleasant Hill Rd.
Officials say the woman who was hospitalized after the fire is Johnson's mother.
She has been released and is doing okay, officials say.
Johnson lived in the home with his mother and step-father.
They say his step-father wasn't hurt.
The Campbell County Sheriff's Office says the fire does not appear suspicious.
