Officials: 5 houses damaged in two-alarm structure fire


UPDATE 5:44 P.M.

Officials say when crews arrived to a structure fire in the 500 block of Bullitt Ave SE in Roanoke, they were met with heavy flames, heavy heat and heavy wind conditions.

They say due to the amount of fire and wind, the fire was elevated to a second alarm.

According to officials, four additional houses were also damaged.

They say four of the five homes were vacant and one was occupied.

Officials say no one was displaced or injured.

The cause and damage estimates are under investigation


ROANOKE, Va. (WSET) -- Officials say crews are on the scene of a fire in Roanoke.

They say crews were dispatched to the 500 block of Bullitt Ave at 2:30 p.m. Saturday.

According to officials, several streets are blocked off as crews are still working to control the fire.

No injuries have been reported.
