Oak Ridge Boys to keep presidential promise, sing 'Amazing Grace' at funeral
Country music group The Oak Ridge Boys will have the honor of performing during the memorial service of President George H.W. Bush.
According to a report from WBIR, the 'Oaks' were one of Bush's favorites and had been asked personally years ago to sing "Amazing Grace" at his service.
The group had been in the family's plan for the service for the past six months but had been contacted by the family within the last three weeks to be prepared to perform, the report said.
“It’s what you do for friends,” said the Oak Ridge Boys’ Duane Allen told The Tennessean.
