LYNCHBURG, Va. (WSET) - A Harry Potter course is coming to the University of Lynchburg this fall as part of their new general education curriculum.
Today the school's educators got the chance to be students for the day so they could learn more changes to the curriculum.
The University says these changes streamline course requirements and refocus on core goals and outcomes.
"Is it very targeted towards 21st Century students who are going out into a global society and so we want faculty, staff and administrators to know what that means what it looks like and experience it first hand," said Dr. Sharon Foreman, Director of General Education.
As for that Harry Potter class, it will be a mix of the popular series and philosophy.
Students will read from the books and also from famous philosophers like Plato to see what ideas they share.
