Multiple roads flooded in Roanoke

ROANOKE, Va. (WSET) -- Cars are being turned away from several roads in Roanoke as many are under water.

Roanoke Fire and EMS said the flooded roads include Garden City Blvd. at Riverland Rd. between Bandy Rd. and Crown Point is closed, intersection of Franklin Rd. and Brandon Ave., Broadway/Wonju/Franklin intersection, and the swift water rescue team is deploying to Ogden Rd. and Windward Dr. SW as well as the intersection of Forest Park Blvd. and Melrose Ave.

They said there are also other areas of the city that are experiencing flash flooding.

They ask everyone to be safe and remember to turn around, don't drown.

If you don't have to be out in this weather please stay off the roads.
