Police: 5 rescued after roads flood in Roanoke Co.

UPDATE: Roads are re-opened in these areas.

According to police, five people were rescued.

There were no injuries reported.


ROANOKE Co, Va (WSET)- According to Roanoke County Emergency Communications, multiple roads are closed due to flooding.

The following roads are closed:

  • Electric Road southbound at Grandin Road Extension
  • Chaparral Road at Pen Forest Boulevard
  • Grandin Road Extension southbound near Good Shepherd Church

According to officials, Roanoke County Fire and Rescue has also conducted several technical rescues.

They are emphasizing that drivers take caution in hazardous conditions.
