LYNCHBURG, Va. (WSET) — Lynchburg lawmakers held a special recognition of Hill City veterans at Monument Terrace on Friday.
They honored the "Support the Troops" rallies at Monument Terrace for their dedication and commitment to the community.
Earlier this year, 23rd District Del. Wendell Walker introduced House Bill No. 97, which commended the 20 years these veterans have been holding these rallies.

"Because of your commitment and your time out here, we can thank God for the greatest flag in America: the red white and blue. Your sacrifice will never be forgotten," Walker said.
The resolution was gifted to the rally's organizer, Steve Bozeman.
They've held these "Support the Troops" rallies every Friday afternoon on the steps of Monument Terrace on Church Street since Nov. 30, 2001, and they will continue for many years to come.
