Man pleads guilty to killing Roanoke woman
FRANKLIN Co., Va. (WSET) - A man accused of killing a Roanoke woman pleaded guilty Thursday.
Lamarre Camper pleaded guilty to second degree murder in the Brittany Freeny case.
Freeny was reported missing by Roanoke Police on May 1, 2017.
Her body was found in Franklin County on May 3.
Camper was identified as a suspect and was arrested in North Carolina.
He was then charged with burning the minivan Freeny was last seen alive in.
Camper was charged with first degree murder.
A warrant showed Freeny left the apartment complex where she and Camper lived in the van.
After the plea, Camper was sentenced to 40 years in prison with 20 years suspended, and will then serve a five-year probation.
