Man charged with DWI after motorcycle crash leaves adult, child seriously injured


    BLACKSBURG, Va. (WSET) -- Blacksburg Police are investigating a crash involving a car and a motorcycle Sunday afternoon.

    Police said the crash happened around 3:25 p.m. at the intersection of Ellett Road and South Main Street.

    They said the motorcycle was traveling west on Ellett Roanoke when it entered the intersection and was hit by a car traveling south on South Main Street.

    According to police, the driver of the car, Andrew Patton, 22, was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

    They said the adult male motorcycle operator and a juvenile passenger were both taken to the hospital with serious injuries.

    Police said Patton has been charged with driving motor vehicle, engine, etc. while intoxicated.

    The names of the victims on the motorcycle will not be released.
