Two high schoolers in the City of Lynchburg recently received an award from the Central Virginia Addiction and Recovery Resources (CVARR) Coalition.

According to Horizon Behavioral Health, E.C. Glass High School's Gracie Strange and Heritage High School's Peace Okojie were awarded the "Key Champion Award."

The students were given the 2023 Youth - Key Champion Award for their outstanding contribution to the Healthy Youth through Prevention Education (HYPE) Club.

HYPE Club is a volunteer club led by student leaders who are passionate about educating their peers on the risks of substance use by planning events and developing awareness campaigns to promote healthy behaviors amongst their peers.
