Lynchburg Police: Several license plates have gone missing in the area

LYNCHBURG, Va. (WSET) - Lynchburg Police Department is seeking information regarding theft of license plates from vehicles.

Between October 1st and December 4th, multiple citizens have reported their license plate or plates removed from their vehicles. Several of these reported thefts have occurred in the night time.

The Lynchburg Police Department has taken 16 reports in the past 2 months of these incidents. There is not one particular area of Lynchburg that this is occurring. Officers have recovered three of the reported stolen plates; one of the three was recovered on a stolen vehicle in Campbell County.

The following Virginia license plates are stolen and have not been recovered:

  • VLV-5428 (one plate) - JAMEAH (one plate) - VME-5384 (one plate)
  • VUS-4972 (one plate) - 620337TL (one trailer plate) - VSS-8908 (both plates)
  • KHR-1129 (one plate) - KFB-5391 (one plate) - VVD-5188 (one plate)
  • 933377 (one motorcycle plate) - NDSOLR1 (one trailer plate)
  • CT678988 (one trailer plate) - XFC-1048 (both plates)

Residents are asked if you see suspicious activity please call the Lynchburg Police Department or dial 911 for emergencies.
