The Lynchburg Police Department added two new sets of wheels called ghost vehicles to its fleet.

They're given that name because of the muted black decals on either side of the black car. It's a hybrid between a traditional patrol car and an unmarked one.

LPD said these cars give its traffic officers flexibility when out on the roads.

"They do everything from enforcing the hands-free law to enforcing traffic violations and things like that," Carrie Dungan, Community Relations Coordinator for the Lynchburg Police Department, "Having that flexibility, especially for things like the hands-free law, that is something we've seen that has a direct impact on drivers on the road."
