LYNCHBURG, Va. (WSET) -- An aircraft associated with Liberty University made a crash landing at Lynchburg Regional Airport Thursday, according to a representative with the airport.
According to Liberty University, a Cessna 172 Skyhawk airplane was taking off around 11 a.m. when it ran into some sort of problem, Liberty's Executive Director of External Communications, Len Stevens.
Two people were on the plane, a student and a flight instructor who is an employee and graduate of Liberty University.
The pilot radioed the tower and was able to put the plane down, but ran off the runway.
There are no injuries reported, but there is damage to the plane.
Both on board the plane are up and walking around.
The incident has been reported to the NTSB and the FAA who are now investigating.
