FOREST Va. (WSET) -- Tragically, one of the 11 who died in Saturday’s horrific plane crash in Hawaii is Forest native, Josh Drablos.
Today friends and family mourn their immeasurable loss.
Drablos’ former coach, Michael Parker, is just one of the figures still trying wrap his head around the terrible news. For years, Parker coached Drablos at Jefferson Forest High School. Drablos belonged to the class of 2010 and was a very skilled pole vaulter.
Parker says Drablos was fearless, fast and always up for an adventure. That uniquely adventurous spirit led him to attend the Naval Academy, where he continued to pole vault.
Parker believes Drablos died doing what he loved.
”I can imagine that Josh never even considered that he might have perished in that airplane,” said Parker. “I can imagine that he may have been trying to help people not get injured."
Funeral plans have not been released yet.
