OCEAN CITY, Md. (WBFF) — A license plate reader alert lead to the arrest of an attempted murder suspect in Ocean City Tuesday, city police said.
Antonio John Torlish, 26, of Ocean City, is facing charges of attempted murder, assault, reckless endangerment and weapons violations.
Salisbury police said Torlish shot someone on Sunday in the 500 block of Emory Court. On Tuesday night, Ocean City officers received the alert as Torlish drove his car south on Route 1 at 140 Street.

Officers later found the car outside a north-end condo building. Torlish was then taken into custody without incident.
“This is another incident where the LPR system has proven to be a valuable tool to help keep Ocean City safe,” Ocean City Police Chief Ross Buzzuro said.
Torlish is being held without bond at the Worcester County Detention Center in Snow Hill.
