LEXINGTON, Va. (WSET) -- White House Press Secretary Sarah Sanders said she was kicked out of a restaurant in Lexington Friday night.

On Saturday after the incident, people left notes and signs at the Red Hen either praising or condemning the restaurant.

Sanders said it was her affiliation with President Trump that she was kicked out of the restaurant.

Many are divided on the incident and how it will affect their willingness to eat there in the future.

"I always try to eat and support the community even though I don't live here anymore, but this is not a place I would ever do business just because of this situation and I think there are a lot of people in the community who feel that way," Karen Fleetwood said.

"I personally think they made the right decision," Brian Tayback said. "They're taking a stand against a very hateful administration. They've had hateful policies toward immigrants, children and minorities. I would be very proud to dine in such an establishment."

We have reached out to the owner of the Red Hen, and are waiting to hear back.
