JFHS wind symphony chosen as 1 of 12 bands to perform in national festival

FOREST, Va. (WSET) -- The Jefferson Forest High School wind symphony is celebrating a big honor.

They are going to perform as a Featured Band at this year's Music For All National Concert Festival, as one of 12 bands chosen throughout the country.

The event will be at Butler University in Indianapolis.

Students hit the road on Wednesday, March 14 for the event that goes from Thursday to Saturday.

"Being able to unify as a family and create this music and to go and play for such an incredible audience and this high experience, it's very overwhelming, and I'm very honored to be a part of it," said Morgan Gaylor, an oboe player in the band.

This will be the band's second time performing at this festival.
