JF student charged after video surfaces showing him with gun, saying 'n' word

BEDFORD Co., Va. (WSET) -- A Jefferson Forest High School student has been charged and is coming under fire after a video surfaced showing him using racist language.

The video shows a student with some sort of gun, shouting 'We got a n*****. Shoot the n*****. What are we going to do with all these n*****?"

Bedford County Public Schools said they were immediately made aware of the video circulating social media.

You can see that the video was recorded on Snapchat, but quickly transferred to other social media platforms.

The school system said the took 'appropriate action' but would not say what those actions were.

They are also not releasing the name of the student involved in the video.

The Bedford County Sheriff's Office confirms the student has been charged with using the public airway to communicate a threat.
