'Jaws of life' used to extract driver from vehicle after accident in Danville

DANVILLE, Va. (WSET) -- A driver had to be extracted from their vehicle after it crashed with another vehicle near Memorial and North Ridge Roads in Danville Tuesday afternoon.

The driver was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries, according to police.

The Danville Life Saving Crew, along with the Danville Police Department worked the scene to get the driver out of the vehicle.

Due to the accident parts of the roads were blocked.

Police said one of the drivers was driving down Memorial and the other on North Ridge when they collided around 12:45 p.m.
