HumanKind looks to City of Lynchburg to approve rezoning petition
LYNCHBURG, Va. (WSET) -- HumanKind is asking the Lynchburg Planning Commission to rezone part of their property.
Currently, all of it is zoned as residential because they were grandfathered into the zone laws in the city.
But now that is creating problems as they plan to replace their pool, add playing fields, along with a few other updates.
"This is all private funding and really at this point we are just talking about the rezone and we have presented a concept plan with our proposal to see what the next two years would include with the enhancements and all of that would be capital funding," said Ashleigh B. Karol, director of communications for HumanKind.
According to Karol, their property is about 166 acres and they hope to rezone on third of that.
Next, they will meet with city council about their plans.
