BROOKNEAL, Va. (WSET) -- Foster Fuels Mission Critical division has been activated in preparation for Hurricane Florence.

More than 150 fuel trucks are already stationed throughout the East Coast, but Foster Fuels plans on sending more assets as the week continues.

The trucks are carrying loads of diesel, gasoline, propane and other necessary provisions.

"We welcome the opportunity to answer the call during these times of need. This is a big commitment for our team members as they leave behind family members and other responsibilities. However, we know the work we are doing is helping others in their time of need and we are proud to be able to do that," said Mission Critical team member, Freddie Wydner.

Foster Fuels’ Mission Critical division’s main objective is to fuel critical infrastructure like hospitals, first responders, emergency vehicles, and other key organizations.

"Fuel is a crucial commodity during these times of need," Stephen Tibbs, Senior Vice President of Foster Fuels said. "When the power goes out and local vendors are affected and not able to meet that need, our team has the experience and the capability to fill those orders and keep the operation running."

Fuel trucks are continually being sent out as Hurricane Florence draws closer.

With the predictions of Florence making landfall Friday, Foster Fuels expects that their operation will not slow down until the scale of the hurricane’s impact is better understood.
