Firefighter, siblings injured in horse and buggy crash in Central Virginia

Multiple people were injured when a car collided with a horse and buggy in the Toga area of Buckingham County on Sunday morning.

Fire departments responded to the accident at about 8:30 a.m. on U.S. 60 between Buckingham County High School and Buckingham County Middle School.

The buggy was operated by one of Toga's young Amish firefighters, according to the Toga Volunteer Fire Department.

Firefighter Jacob Bieler and three of his siblings were injured but are expected to be OK.

Bieler was bruised and shaken up but not seriously injured. His three siblings were taken to a hospital and have since been released. His younger brother was ejected and might have gotten a concussion. One of his sisters hit her head, and his other sister injured an arm and hand, the fire department said.
