Father of missing Va. toddler, found in suitcase, arrested in Puerto Rico

RICHMOND, Va. (WSET) -- Officials have arrested the father of a missing Richmond toddler found dead in a suitcase.

Te'Myah Layauna Plummer's body was found in a suitcase near train tracks in New Jersey on April 11, according to officials.

WTVR reports that Plummer's father, Travis Lamont Plummer was arrested in Puerto Rico and taken into custody by FBI agents without incident on April 19.

Richmond Police issued a missing persons alert for Te'Myah and her father in March although detectives said that the did not believe the two were in danger at the time.

Te'Myah was initially thought to be 10 months, according to a preliminary medical examiner's report, but DNA testing determined her age to be close to 2-years-old.

Travis Plummer has been charged with desecrating human remains, which is a second-degree crime.
