NEW YORK CITY, N.Y., (WSET) - Liberty University President Jerry Falwell, Jr. confirmed to ABC 13 that he visited with President-elect Donald Trump on Thursday in New York City.
Falwell said he and Trump met at Trump Tower and discussed the U.S. Department of Education and Falwell's potential role. Trump is in the process of putting together his administration.
He told The Times-Dispatch last week that he would like to be a part of Trump's administration. “I let them know one of my passions is reforming higher education and education in general,” Falwell told the newspaper.
Falwell has long supported Trump in his bid to be president and encouraged people to vote for the Republican nominee last week in the election. He is already a member of Trump’s Evangelical Executive Advisory Board.
This is a developing story, stick with ABC 13 for updates.
