LYNCHBURG, Va. (WSET) - Liberty University President, Jerry Falwell, Jr. took to Twitter to praise President Donald Trump for his remarks concerning Charlottesville.

He tweeted "Finally a leader in the White House. Jobs returning, North Korea backing down, bold truthful statement about Charlottesville tragedy. So proud of Donald Trump."

The President held a press conference at Trump Tower Tuesday and called out white supremacists at the Unite the Right rally on August 12.

Trump also reiterated his placement of "blame on both sides," saying he believes the "alt-left," indicating the counter-protesters who rallied against the white nationalists, bears some responsibility for the chaos.

During the rally that Saturday, one woman was killed when a car ran into a group of pedestrians, and two state troopers died when their helicopter crashed.
