Collection Sites

-Evergreen Baptist Church is offering donated items for pickup between 8 am-7:30 pm. Supplies include paper towels, bottled water, toilet paper, tarps, small hand tools, rakes, personal hygiene items, diapers, canned goods, candles and flashlights. Call 434-352-5716 for more information.

-Churches of Christ Disaster Relief Effort has a warehouse of personal care items, cleaning supplies and more for those affected. The warehouse is located on 191 Police Tower Road, Appomattox.

-Appomattox Community Center - 220 Community Lane, Appomattox, VA 24522 - (434) 352-5996

-Liberty Baptist Church - 1709 Church St, Appomattox - (434) 352-2336

-Lynchburg Fire Department is offering drop-off points (at any Lynchburg Fire Station) for non-perishable food, bottled water, clothing, and cleaning supplies for Appomattox citizens.

-Walmart in Lynchburg will be collecting items for Gleaning for the World to send from 10am-6pm Friday and Saturday.

-Golden Corral in Roanoke and Lynchburg are teaming up to help those dealing with the aftermath of the tornado in Appomattox.

Donations are being collected Friday through Wednesday.

These are the items they are collecting:

• Nonperishable foods
• Bottled water
• Clean/new clothing
• Personal care items
• Diapers
• Batteries
• Flashlights
• Cleaning supplies
• Buckets

You can drop the donations off at the Golden Corral in Roanoke at 1441 Towne Square Blvd.

Or you can go to the Lynchburg location at 4005 Wards Rd.

-H&R Block is accepting donations of non-perishable food items, bottled water, clothing, and cleaning supplies.

Donations can be dropped off at their Appomattox location near Kroger, Wendy's, and Pebbles.

-IRON Lives is setting up supply drop off locations here at Sluggo's Sundae Drive 114 Addie Drive

Madison Heights, VA 24572 from 2:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. on Friday

We will have another drop off Saturday morning at the Amherst County High School gym between 9:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m.

Volunteer Efforts

Anyone who wants to volunteer is told to come to the former Thomasville plant in Appomattox.
