Five suspects arrested after Lynchburg Police serve warrants at hotel

The Lynchburg Police Department said five people were arrested at a hotel in Lynchburg Monday morning.

Police said they received information that a wanted person, 23-year-old Felicia Floyd, was inside a hotel room at the Best Western on Candlers Mountain Road, she was featured as a the Manhunt last week.

As officers approached the area, they saw Floyd leaving the parking lot in a silver vehicle with a man.

Officers stopped the vehicle on Wards Road and located Floyd, along with 23-year-old Gaige Alexander Wade; they were both arrested.

Floyd was originally wanted on one felony count of obtaining money by false pretenses, two felony counts of forgery, and one felony count of probation violation.

Wade was charged with failure to appear on a charge of grand larceny out of Amherst County.

Police said as officers were dealing with this traffic stop, other officers approached the hotel room in question and located three more people; two of which had warrants on file from other jurisdictions.

Kylee Ann McCue, 22, of Lynchburg has been charged with failure to appear on possession of a controlled substance out of Appomattox, Bronson Thomas Wood, 36, has been charged with Capias from Bedford County.

Wood was also charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession with intent to distribute a controlled substance as a result of this incident by Lynchburg Police.

During the investigation, police said they also got information that there were weapons and drugs inside the hotel room, along with other suspects refusing to leave.

The LPD Tactical and Negotiations Unit were called and cleared the room, taking one additional person into custody: Andrew Bennett Dalton, 31, of Rustburg, who was arrested for two Lynchburg warrants of abduction & kidnapping and domestic assault and battery.


LYNCHBURG, Va. (WSET) - Lynchburg Police say three people are now in custody after they began serving a warrant around 5 a.m. Monday.

Police say there was at least one wanted person in a room at the Best Western on Candlers Mountain Road.

According to police, the person or people were in one of the rooms at the Best Western.

Police evacuated the other people who were staying at the Best Western and a heavy police presence formed around the hotel.

LPD says two individuals were taken into custody, leaving one person in the hotel.

Police worked to get the last suspect out of the hotel and into custody.

Officials say they are trying to get the people to come outside.

They say they have the area secure, and do not believe anyone is in danger.

Police were able to clear the scene by 10:20 a.m., hours after they initially arrived.

Lynchburg Police say more information is expected to come later Monday, including what the three people were wanted for.
