Police: 21-year-old man identified in Danville homicide, suspect arrested & charged

Danville police investigating a homicide on Paxton Avenue Friday night (WSET)

DANVILLE, Va. (WSET) -- Danville Police have identified Patrick Andreaus Gunn, 21, of Danville as the victim in a Friday evening homicide in the city.

Police said they found Gunn dead inside a car in the driver's side seat with a gunshot wound around 7:45 p.m. Friday on Paxton Street.

Saturday morning Danville Police said they arrested and charged a teen, 17, in the shooting death of Gunn.

Police said the teen is charged with 1st Degree Murder and Use of a Firearm in the Commission of a Felony.

The teen's name is being withheld at this time due to his age.

Police said the teen is was being held in W.W. Moore Jr. Juvenile Detention. Police said Saturday morning they are not looking for any other suspects in this incident.
