Danville businesses continuing to recover following flooding
DANVILLE, Va. (WSET) -- Business on the southside are still cleaning up after bad flooding Friday.
The owner of the coin shop on Riverside Drive in Danville said he has experienced flooding in the parking lot of his shop four times since being in business.
He said he is hoping the city will do something about it sooner than later.
Although flood waters have passed, there's still leftover debris at Garrett Easley's shop.
He said he has a low spot as you drive into the shop and water builds up, leaving him with clogged drains.
This is the worst it's ever been and has affected customers coming in and out of the shop.
"If it had come up two more inches it would've been inside of my building. It's generally not quite that bad, but they need to do something. The city needs to do something about that culvert," Easley said.
Easley has been in contact with the City and they plan to come clean out the drains near his shop.
Public works said they are spending the day working on Riverside Drive replacing pipes.
