LYNCHBURG, Va. (WSET) -- Central Virginia Community College has announced their commencement speaker for the May 10 ceremony.
Class of 1987 graduate Wiley "Bif" Johnson III will be the speaker for the 50th commencement ceremony.
Johnson graduated from the school with an Associates Degree in engineering and continued his education at Virginia Tech, earning a Bachelor of Science in civil engineering.
After graduating, Johnson returned to Lynchburg and has had a successful career at Hurt & Proffitt, Inc.
CVCC says about 968 students will be graduating during Thursday's ceremony at the Liberty University Vines Center.
