GLADYS, Va. (WSET) - Crews with Dominion Power will be out along Route 501 near Gladys for several hours after a tractor trailer crash Wednesday.

State Police say the tractor trailer was traveling south on Route 501 near Route 635 when he noticed he was drifting toward a car.

The driver told police he panicked and over-corrected.

Police say when he over-corrected to the right side of the road, he hit Rosie's Cozy Kitchen, and continued to hit a power pole nearby.

Officials say the driver then over-corrected left and hit another power pole with a transformer.

They say that transformer broke and fell onto the truck.

The tractor trailer had to be towed from the scene because one of the front axles was damaged.

Police say the driver was not injured, and is charged with failing to maintain control.

The scene was clear just before noon.

Dominion crews told state police they hope to have everything fixed later Wednesday.

This is a developing story, stay with ABC 13 for updates.
