Catering company busy behind the scenes at Martinsville Speedway

A local catering company prepares to feed thousands of people during race weekend.

Martinsville, Va. (WSET)- There's a lot going on behind the scenes at the Martinsville Speedway.

ABC 13 spoke to the local catering company, Ritz Gourmet, which is cooking for about 10,000 people during the race. It includes those who have box seats, the hospitality area and the press.

It's a huge job, but the owner, Dennis Sparks, said they've been planning for a long time and they're ready. They will have more than 100 servers working this weekend.

"Everything from a famous Martinsville hot dog to prime rib and shrimp so you can get the five star experience or a one star, whatever you prefer," Sparks said. "We actually don't even know there's a race going on. We're busy taking care of what we're trying to take care of."

To put the amount of food they have to serve in perspective for you, they're preparing 7,000 pounds of coleslaw!
