With Ceasar's Casino coming to the River City, phase one of the renovations at the Danville Regional Airport are underway.

Reconstructing and reorganizing is the name of the game as crews are adding a larger and expanded pilot's lounge and a quiet area.

They're also transforming a once-vending machine area into a shower room.

Marc Adelman, transportation services director for the City of Danville, says air traffic is expected to increase 30 to 50 percent.

"In order to support and improve pedestrian traffic flow inside the terminal building, all these renovations are needed, and security improvements are necessary to support what's expected of the casino," Adelman said.
