Officials: Tents belonging to homeless people caught fire under John Lynch bridge


LYNCHBURG, VA (WSET) -- Emergency Communication officials confirmed there was a fire under the John Lynch Memorial Bridge in downtown Lynchburg.

They say the fire started late Monday night and was out by midnight.

Fire officials at the scene say that items, such as tents, belonging to homeless people had caught on fire.

They say one person was being evaluated for smoke inhalation.

No one was taken to the hospital, according to officials.
