Student struck by lightning at Charlotte County middle school
CHARLOTTE Co., Va. (WSET) -- The Charlotte County Sheriff's Office said a middle school student was struck by lightning during storms Monday.
The sheriff's office said the boy is under the age of 18 and was struck by lightning at Central Middle School.
They said the student was attending school at the time he was hit.
Severe weather and tornadoes on Monday have brought major damage to multiple counties and areas in Central Virginia.
The storms spawned a tornado warning in Charlotte County, but there were no reports of damage.
There is no word on the boy's condition.
Charlotte County Public Schools will be closed for all students and staff on Tuesday, September 18 due to multiple road closings throughout the county.
