BEDFORD, Va. (WSET) -- Bedford unveiled a special project on Wednesday; the town now has its very own LOVE sign.

It's part of a state-wide initiative launched in 2012 for towns and cities across Virginia to show their pride.

A lot of hands went into this, including the Bedford Area Welcome Center, Bedford County Public Schools and the Bedford Science and Technology Center.

The LOVE letters include artwork that really shows off what makes Bedford special, like agriculture and of course the D-Day Memorial.

This sign is two years in the making, and the design is the brainchild of aspiring artists at Liberty High School.

"As we move into our futures, we'll always remember what we did here in Bedford, and how we made a huge contribution to the community and we want to always remember that for the future generations," said Landon Creek, a student at Liberty High School.

You can see it for yourself at the Bedford Area Welcome Center.
