Appomattox man dies in Prince Edward Co. crash
PRINCE EDWARD Co., Va. (WSET) -- An Appomattox man has died after a crash in Prince Edward County, according to Virginia State Police.
Police say at around 12:57 a.m. Saturday a 2001 Ford Mustang was travelling southbound on Route 15 near Route 133 when the driver lost control of the vehicle.
This caused the Mustang to run off the right side of the road, hit a sign and several trees, then overturn.
The driver was not wearing a seat belt and was ejected.
The passenger, Alexander W. Llyod, 24, of Appomattox was taken to Southside Community Hospital with life-threatening injuries.
He later succumbed to his injuries. He was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.
State Police say charges are expected. The crash remains under investigation.
