AMHERST, Va (WSET)- Organizers of the Amherst County Fair say it was a success.
Vanessa Angus, director of the Amherst County Chamber of Commerce said over the course of four days they had about 15,000 people visiting the fair and about 250 volunteers.
Right now they are waiting approval from the board of supervisors to have the fair again next year and Angus says they are optimistic it will happen.
The county approved about $60,000 for the fair this year, but Angus says the numbers are not in yet for how much money the fair generated. She explained that some costs were just for the first year. For example, laying down gravel for the fairgrounds.
