Amherst Co. approves 6 new SRO's with $400,000 grant

On Tuesday, the Board of Supervisors approved six new School Resource Officers (SROs) for Amherst County Public Schools.

The board said they received a $400,000 grant awarded by The Virginia Department of Criminal Justice Services.

Once hired, the board said one SRO will now be in every Amherst County school building.
