American Red Cross asking for blood this winter
LYNCHBURG, Va. (WSET) -- The American Red Cross says they have a critical need for blood donations.
The Red Cross is putting blood on the shelves of hospitals, as soon as they are coming in.
Red Cross workers say there's always a need for blood, but the need goes up in the winter time.
You have two opportunities to donate in the next few days...
Blood Services Director, Laura Dooley, says "we have the donarama's on Monday and Tuesday, Monday's is at Bedford Baptist Church in Bedford and Tuesday is the Lynchburg Public Library on Memorial. Both drives run from 12-6 p.m.
If you would like to give blood on either of these days, make sure you're feeling well.
The Red Cross also suggests eating a healthy breakfast on the morning you plan to donate.
