Alton man fed up after cell phone number listed on McDonald's website, gets nonstop calls
ALTON, Va. (WSET) -- One Alton man's cell phone number is being mistaken for a local McDonald's, and now his phone won't stop ringing.
Randy Price said it's been almost a month since his cell phone number was posted online as the number to this McDonald's location on Philpott Road in South Boston and he's very frustrated.
Price said he gets at least 30 calls a day since the beginning of June.
"It was like Friday, June 1st, early in the morning, around 8 or so," Price said. "Phone rang and I picked it up thinking it was business and somebody was looking for McDonald's."
Price didn't think much of it at first, but then his phone wouldn't stop ringing.
"It just started over and over," Price said. "By Friday evening, I probably had 30 calls."
His wife, Karen Price, discovered his number listed on Google and the McDonald's website as the phone number to a location in South Boston.
She said the corporate manager didn't believe her at first.
"She was convinced I needed to go to Google to get it fixed and I asked her to please go on the website with me, their corporate website and she'll see it is not their phone number and she did," Karen said.
Weeks later, Karen says the number on Google is now correct, but it's still wrong on the McDonald's website.
The Price's are fed up with the situation and don't understand why it's taking so long to fix.
"I would just like them to fix their number so my phone would quit ringing a million times a day," Randy Price said.
"He's had that phone number for 13 years," Karen price said. "I don't think we should have to change our phone number. I would think that a company that big would have taken care of it right away, and they haven't."
