Harrisonburg, VA - James Madison University has confirmed more than $25,000 in gifts and pledges have been made to the Alison B. Parker Memorial Fund.

A local alumnus and member of the JMU Alumni Association Board pledged to match the next $25,000 given - dollar for dollar.

According to the school's website, their hope is to help the Parker family celebrate Alison's memory through a permanent endowment.

The scholarship will go to a student in the School of Media Arts and Design at JMU - because that is the school Alison graduated from.
