Now Open: Aerie promotes body positivity, empowerment through apparel at River Ridge Mall

LYNCHBURG, Va. (WSET) — River Ridge is welcoming Aerie, one of the fastest-growing brands in the apparel industry to their mall.

The story opened on Thursday for customers.

The mall said Aerie is committed to creating exceptional merchandise collections while positively influencing the way women see themselves and treat others. The store offers intimates, apparel, activewear, and swimwear with every piece designed for comfort. The Aerie brand promotes body positivity, empowerment, and confidence.

The brand’s powerful #AerieREAL platform continues to inspire women around the world to not only love themselves but to help empower other women.

Leading the charge behind the self-love movement, Aerie was one of the first brands to stop using models in its campaigns, rather highlighting real women that support its mission, and continues to do so today.

Aerie, located near Center Court between JD Sports and Foot Locker, will be highlighted by an open welcoming front and areas to relax, take selfies, or engage in fun experiences while you enjoy shopping. The mall said Aerie is the place for everyone to feel comfortable.

“We’re excited to have Aerie join our family of retailers at River Ridge,” said Melissa Faria, River Ridge General Manager. “Due to their strong brand, popular apparel and accessory offerings, Aerie is often one of the most requested retailers we have from our customers. We are happy to be able to fulfill that request!”

Aerie is the most recent retailer to be announced by River Ridge during its redevelopment. Since construction began, the redevelopment has brought in national, regional, and local retailers alike, including seven that have already opened or have been announced in 2022.
