AEP: Morning accidents leave nearly 2,000 people in the dark


LYNCHBURG, Va . (WSET) -- Nearly 2,000 people are in the dark this morning following multiple accidents in Lynchburg.

As of 7:30 A.M on Tuesday, AEP's power outage map shows that 1,976 people are without power.

The worst hit area is in the area of Sheffield and near the intersection of Fort Ave. and Perrymont Ave.

There are also outages around the intersection of Wards Rd. and Candlers Mountain Rd.

Another area hit with outages is near Mayflower Dr. and John Capron Rd.

It could be hours before power is restored.
