AEP: 25,000 people without power across Virginia, Tennessee

LYNCHBURG, Va. (WSET) -- Thousands of Virginians are without power in Virginia due to Sunday's storm.

As of 6:00 p.m. Sunday, about 25,000 AEP customers were without power. Luckily most of those outages are not in our area and are focused in Tennessee and counties further west in Virginia.

AEP says that as the storm moves out of the area, more outages are possible.

Plus, since the roads are not in the best condition, restoration may take some time.

AEP says there is too much damage and too many outages to give an adequate restoration time.

The snow could also possibly freeze overnight, which could make conditions worse.

You can check on power restoration statuses here.
