100-year-old South Boston business closing, holding liquidation auction Saturday
SOUTH BOSTON, Va. (WSET) -- A business in South Boston is closing its doors after 100 years.
Boston Lumber Company is a family-owned lumber store that's been passed down for three generations.
Owners said it is a bittersweet experience.
They said they didn't have any luck in finding a buyer to keep the store running, so they had no choice but to close.
Nine employees were let go.
They are officially closed, but are having a liquidation auction on Saturday, May 19 at 9 .m. at their business on Philpott Road.
